Mady Appleton is a recent graduate from the University of Lethbridge with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music through trombone performance. She also completed her grade 8 Royal Conservatory Exam, with honours, in piano in 2019. Mady has experience teaching piano for the past 8 years and trombone, french horn, and ukulele for the past 3. As of this fall, she is pursuing her after-degree in education at the University of Alberta and is a current performer with the University’s Symphony Orchestra. Mady's love for music has always driven her to share it with others, and she's thrilled at the opportunity to pass that on through teaching at Long & McQuade!
Her rate is $29 per half hour

Vocal Health & Style Study Masterclass

Students develop a deeper understanding of vocal anatomy, vocal health and longevity, create a personalized vocal warm-up and cool-down routine, study 4 different genres of music and some of each genre’s most prominent musicians, perform in front of the class in a welcoming and nourishing atmosphere, and receive live feedback from peers and the teacher.
Crash Course: Accelerating from a beginner to intermediate guitarist
with Natalia Ungstad
Tuesdays, 7:00-8:00 PM from July 7th to August 25th
$400 for 8 sessions, per student
ages 13+
Are you interested in learning the basics of guitar and quickly advancing beyond the “beginner” level? If so, this course is for you! Over the span of 8 weeks, learn how to develop finger dexterity and independence, alternate-picking, fingerpicking, hybrid-picking, and how to read and play strumming patterns. You'll also have the opportunity to perform an improvised guitar solo, read tablature, and experiment with various techniques such as slides, bends, and more.
